and I like to take pictures.
I’ve been interested in photography ever since I was in High School and over time that interest has turned into a profession. My favorite subjects are Portraits, Landscapes, Macro, and working with Children.
I started this business to work with people, and to learn and capture what is important to them. I feel most successful when others are happy with the work I’ve done.
My approach to Photography
I care most about what you want out of our time together. I want to understand your goals and expectations and work with you to accomplish them. I prioritize being fun and friendly so that you can be you, and together we can capture your personality. Patience, friendliness, and passion are what has brought me back to other photographers in the past and I want to give that same impression to my clients and give you a reason to come back.
I describe my style as "natural" and I put an emphasis on capturing "true color" in my photography, especially with regards to skin tone. I prefer not to use AI or HDR post-processing filters, and instead rely on my skills to hand edit photos as required to improve aesthetics without misrepresenting the subject or composure of the photo.
How I conduct a session
When we begin our engagement, we will meet for a 30 minute free consultation to discuss what you are looking for out of your session. We will review details, options, costs, locations, and times for all stages of the session. If we are able to agree on terms and details, we will sign the agreement, collect initial payment, and book the appointment.
Following the completion of your session, we will schedule a post-session wrap-up to review all the photos that are up to my standard of quality, that you can choose from for your physical and digital prints.
Following the completion of our session and our post-session wrap-up, I catalog, review, touch-up, and prepare your photos. This ensures that when you first see the results of your session, I am able to guarantee the level of quality I expect of my work.
Within 21 days of the completion of your session, I upload all of the photos we reviewed together to an online gallery attached to your personal account on this website. This enables you to view proofs of your photos, create a favorites list and add comments that I can also see. Once the engagement is complete, this gallery will remain available to you in case you wish to review or purchase additional photos.

Every person deserves to be treated with the same respect, kindness, and honesty as any other person. Diversity in who we are as an individual is what makes human kind special and gives our community strength.
These ethos extend beyond how we treat each other personally. 'True Color' skin tone in photography has a contentious and controversial history. Honesty to me not only means being truthful in how I speak, but also representing truth in my photography. I take this commitment to my clients seriously; I will always edit and balance your photos in earnest, and be true to your unique complexion.
My wedding photographer story
In 2005, I attended a wedding expo where I met the company that I would choose to photograph my upcoming wedding. I even won a raffle and got a percentage off of the total and a free consultation! Following the expo, I met with a very nice lady and got to see her portfolio. Based on what I saw, I chose to book her and also requested a secondary photographer as well. I very specifically asked: "It will be you and one other photographer, correct?" She assured me yes, that is the case. I was so excited to have this item marked off my (very long) list.
On my wedding day, only a single photographer showed up. Worse yet it was someone I had never met before and to be honest, he made me feel very uncomfortable. The overall experience just went down hill from there. Remember, this was in 2005 so we did not have many options last minute beyond low quality pocket cameras or disposables.
I received zero photos of my groom and groomsmen getting ready and very few of myself and my bridesmaids getting ready. Of the posed family photos we did receive, most of the colors are washed out and details were blurry. I am not a thin girl, so angles and lighting can make all the difference for a flattering photo, it matters quite a bit. Unfortunately this was not taken into consideration, and many photos of me look like I have a double chin. The part I laugh about most is that, some of my favorite photos of the day were taken by my 5 year old niece with a disposable point-and-click camera!
When I finally received my photos, I was devastated. I had dreamed of this day for so long and the memories I would have. I put my heart into planning this day, and I have only 1 or two photos I'm happy to display in my home.
In 2018 as my children were getting older, I decided to pursue photography as a profession after years of practicing it as a hobby. My story and stories like it are something I never want to make someone go through. You should look at your photos and be filled with happy memories and emotions, that's the entire reason you choose to photograph something in the first place.

Jamie was able to accommodate me on short notice after I was disappointed with my graduation photos from UW. I really appreciated that her packages were affordable, and she worked with my budget while still providing exceptional service; something I was especially grateful for as a recent graduate!
Her studio was easy to find and had convenient, accessible parking. The photography space was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with a nice bathroom for changing, plenty of lighting, a large mirror and nice temperature.
Most importantly, Jamie was incredibly friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire session. She guided me through the process, showed me photos as we went, and gave me opportunities to adjust my outfit or make changes between shots. Being able to see the photos during the session helped ensure I was happy with the results. I felt completely at ease, which allowed me to be myself and smile naturally. The experience was wonderful from start to finish, and I highly recommend her services!
This is the first time my husband and I have gotten professional photos done for Christmas cards, let alone with a 5 month old, so we weren't sure where to start, and I'm so glad we were able to find Jamie! We did an in person consultation since I am a visual person and she made things so easy to understand. She was always quick to reply to emails and was very accommodating to our schedule. The photo shoot itself was so laid back and didn't feel rushed. There were a lot of cute props for our little one, and she was great at getting him to smile. Needless to say we will definitely be returning the next time we want to get photos done!
Capturing time photography did my sons newborn pictures and they turned out amazing!! They were also so good with hiim. We’re planning to have his milestone pictures and future family pictures done here as well. Booking is easy and they’re flexible and work with your schedule when scheduling the consultation, pictures, and post consultation to order the pictures. I highly recommend!!
